We are local lawyers.
We are both from Bath County, Kentucky. We’ve been described as a blue-collar law firm. That about sums it up. We don’t represent insurance companies. We don’t represent big corporations. We represent people. Local people. Our firm has dedicated itself to providing quality legal services to those in need in a wide variety of practice areas. Michael has provided legal services primarily in the areas of state and federal criminal defense, automobile collision personal injury law, and social security disability. Earl has devoted his career to civil litigation, including automobile and big truck personal injury law, divorce and custody, wills and estates, property, and contracts. In addition to those areas of law, Earl represents several local cities, boards, and utility companies. Together, after 30 years, they have developed a solid reputation for providing skilled legal services with a record of success.
Both Michael and Earl are graduates of Morehead State University. Both also graduated from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville. Michael began the practice in 1989 when he joined Hon. John R. Cox, who was at that time the city attorney for the city of Morehead, Kentucky. Attorney Cox went on to become District Judge for the 21st Judicial District and served until his retirement. Michael welcomed Earl to the practice in 1991, and they set out taking cases to jury trial in both criminal and civil courts. There were many hard fought battles in court in the early years and their reputations as attorneys who were willing to fight for their clients began to spread.
Hon. Don Blair joined the firm in 2000 and became a partner in May of 2006. However, Mr. Blair followed the same path as Judge Cox when he became a District Judge for our 21st Judicial District in 2007. Following Judge Blair's rise to the bench, Campbell and Rogers were joined by Hon. Monica Hill, a former public defender with a reputation for success in the courtroom in criminal cases. Ms. Hill joined the firm as a partner in January of 2007 and practiced in the areas of criminal defense and divorce/custody cases. She became the Fleming County Attorney in 2019 and is dearly missed as a partner in the firm.
However, the trend of excellence continues now that the firm has welcomed Hon. Erica Stacy-Stegman as an associate. Erica came to the firm in 2018 with over eight years of experience in the area of divorce/custody matters, having become a supervising attorney with Legal Aid of the Bluegrass. Erica is a local lawyer too, being a native of Morgan County, Kentucky. She possesses an extraordinary work ethic and a great deal of courtroom poise and confidence.
